Ephedrine with Guaifensin Compared To Pure Ephedrine

If you’re thinking about using Ephedrine HCL to help make dieting and the process of fat loss that much easier, chances are good that you’re starting to do some research about the various forms of Ephedrine HCL that are on the market.

It’s important that you do come to realize the differences in the types so that when you’re using it, you not only ensure that you get a form that is going to be most beneficial for you, but that you also protect yourself against any of the harmful side effects that Ephedrine HCL can cause.

When used properly and in a moderate dose most people will be find adding this supplement to their regime, however if you don’t understand what you’re getting into with it, that’s when problems will likely occur.

Let’s take a quick look at the difference between ephedrine with Guaifensin compared to that of pure ephedrine.

The Concentration of Ephedrine

The biggest thing that you must know about Ephedrine HCL is that not all products will have the same concentration. Concentrations typically range from about 30-90%, meaning that these products contain this amount of actual ephedrine alkaloids in them.

Most of the time the ephedrine alkaloid is mixed in with others such as pseudoephedrine, norephedrine, as well as norpseudoephedrine. The problem with this though is these combinations can produce toxic effects in users, which is why people often seek out only products that contain pure ephedrine instead.

The issue with doing this, however, is that it’s more difficult to get pure ephedrine due to regulation of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Pairing Ephedrine with Guaifenesin

One of the most common products that ephedrine will then be paired with to help overcome this issue is Guaifenesin. This also works in much the same way as ephedrine does in that its primary purpose is to serve as a nasal decongestant, which is essentially what ephedrine is also prescribed for.

But, the drawback here is that when used in higher amounts, especially over a period of time, there can be numerous negative side effects from using Guaifenesin.

Some of the side effects that can be seen with its use include headaches, nausea, and vomiting. In some extreme cases hallucinations or seizures can occur, however this is most commonly seen with very high dosages.

So if you do want to get the best benefits from Ephedrine HCL, you should try and get it in its pure form, but with that, be aware that there will be limitations to first your ability to get it, and second, with how much you can get.

Be aware also that many of the Ephedrine containing products on the market do contain a combination of ingredients, so it’s not always pure Ephedrine that you’re getting. The best way to ensure purity is to get it from a medical doctor, however then you wouldn’t be receiving it for weight loss but rather for decongestion purposes.
